Icthus has a wide membership from diverse backgrounds.  Some members have been involved their entire lives, some not so long, and others are grown-up campers.  Icthus is run by a volunteer committee that is voted in by the general membership each year. Meet this year’s Icthus Committee of Management!

  • Cara Foot - Cara was invited to Icthus by her neighbour when she was 15.  Since then she has been a camper, a leader and a skipper* at Icthus.  Cara has a Bachelor of Law/International Relations and is currently working in Criminal Law.  Her favourite part of Icthus is early morning swims in Lake Victoria.
  • Kieran Magahy – Kieran is a Life Member of Camp Icthus Inc., as a result of his long term contribution as a volunteer leader, camp skipper*, Committee of Management member and much more.  Kieran works as a professional MFB firefighter and casual disability support officer with DHS.  Kieran is a skilled sailor and canoeist, but says his favourite thing about camp is swimming in the Mitchell River after a long hike.
  • Zea Colgan - Zea has been coming to camp since she was 12 – the youngest of three children in her family to attend Camp Icthus.  She attended as a camper for 7 years and as a volunteer leader for many years since, 2011 marks her first year as a member of the Committee of Management.  Zea is currently working in hospitality while she trains to be a vet nurse.  Her favourite thing about camp is watching campers making new friends.
  • James Link - James has been coming to camp since he was 11.  He has attended 7 camps as a camper and many as leader.  James has a double degree in Commerce/Marketing and currently works for the savewater! alliance.  A sailing leader through and through, James’s favourite thing about camp is sailing overnighters.

* A “skipper” is in charge of the leadership team and oversees the general organisation and running of a summer camp.
