The Camp Icthus site is available for hire to individuals and groups.
The site is located on 10 bushland acres on the Banksia Peninsula, 300km east of Melbourne, Australia. The site has beach frontage on Lake Victoria of the Gippsland lakes, and access to a boat ramp and private jetty in Duck Arm.
Wildlife is abundant on and around the site and the Lakes. Kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, possums, birds, bats, gliders and owls all call Icthus home. The Lakes are a haven for water birds, swans and pelicans are common sightings (along with many other species) and sea eagles are sometimes spotted soaring above. The Gippsland Lakes are also home to a pod of Dolphins, which can sometimes be seen swimming past, just off the shore.
Common activities around Camp Icthus include sailing, canoe/kayaking, waterskiing, fishing and swimming in the Lakes. The site is also within easy range of many of East Gippsland’s other attractions, Lakes Entrance, Buchan Caves, historic mining and rail sites, as well as The Lakes, Alpine, Mitchell River and Croajingolong National Parks.
